This is Nobody Asked Me, But ....
I’ve been retired six months now, and I no longer have a pulpit, or mass emails to the parish, or people emailing me or calling or texting to ask me what I think about anything. I am no longer a “non-elected power broker” in my community (as someone referred to me shortly before I retired). Am I irrelevant? Maybe. That makes this an even more freeing opportunity—a newsletter to record some of the thoughts I might once have shared in sermons or conversations or public testimony at City Council meetings.
Eric Cartman said, ‘I do what I want!’ The theme of this newsletter is, ‘I say what I want!’ Periodically, I’ll publish a rant, a sermon theme, a musing or analysis of something I think is interesting or important. You may or may not like it. I hope you do, but I’m following in Cartman’s footsteps for now.
If you subscribe, I hope you stick with me. If you try it and don’t like it, that’s fine, too. If you appreciate anything I’ve written, I hope you’ll share it in those places where you share things. If you want to suggest a topic … OMG ! That would be ‘Somebody Asked Me, But…’ I might give your topic a go, if I have thoughts.
So, here we go!
